Surface conditioning flap discs are ideal for cleaning, removing light oxidation and surface finishing stainless steel and other metals. Surface conditioning material (SCM) is based on non-woven abrasive fleece and gives a more controlled and consistent sanding action than coated abrasive discs. They are capable of operating on fixed speed angle grinders, but life and performance are much improved if used on variable speed grinders, polishers or rotary sanders.Specification: Uses flaps of non-woven abrasive fleece needled to a backing scrim for durability. Cooler running and more consistent finish than coated abrasives. Select Grade 1 Coarse (approx 80-150 finish), Grade 2 Medium (approx 150-180 finish) or Grade 3 Very Fine (approx 220-320 finish). Colour coded: coarse = brown, medium = maroon, very fine = blue-grey. Max RPM: 115mm 13,300rpm. 125mm 12,200rpm. Advised speed: 3,000-6,000rpm. Sold in packs of 10, but 115mm can be ordered singly.
