Fire Protection Unit

Redetec is a unique fire control solution providing fire protection in operation critical IT server racks and cabinets. Redetec includes all fire detection, control and extinguishing needed within one 19” rack-mounting chassis. For relatively little cost, Redetec provides fire protection against the potentially devastating loss of capital equipment and company essential data. Redetec is widely used in critical systems where IT server or Data centres require more responsive fire detection and protection than found in traditional room based total flood solutions. By putting fire protection into the equipment rack enclosure, Redetec is able to better protect essential equipment and data from the effects of a fire incident within the rack. If during normal operations smoke is detected, Redetec’s on board control systems are able to shut down rack ventilation fans before releasing fire extinguishing gas into the enclosed space and eliminating the risk. Redetec uses point-type or high sensitivity air sampling detectors to identify smoke particles.Fire extinguishant gases such as FM200 and Pyrogen (other gases are also available) are used; selected to meet the demands of each application. Redetec Plus is a further option to the standard Redetec.In addition to the fire detection and control described above, Redetec Plus also provides rack condition monitoring and security management. Monitored inputs include temperature, humidity, vibration, water detection. Each input has user-settable upper/lower threshold levels and user settable alarm levels. Redetec has network access via SNMP,WEB and Telnet using 10BaseT Ethernet.
