The all-new OMEGA 1050 Modal & Inertial Shaker from MB Dynamics is a compact yet powerful solution for structural testing, vibration analysis, and seismic simulation on larger structures such as buildings, bridges, and heavy machinery.

What makes the OMEGA 1050 stand out is its ability to deliver high force output while remaining genuinely portable. Despite providing a 1000N sine peak excitation force and a 50mm peak-to-peak displacement, the shaker weighs just 35kg. This portability makes it ideal for on-site applications, and it’s compact enough to fit in the boot of a standard mid-sized car — a major advantage for engineers working across multiple locations.

Field-Ready Performance

Purpose-built for modal and inertial testing, the OMEGA 1050 can support vertical payloads of up to 150kg and operates across a frequency range of DC to 500Hz. Its use of plain bearings allows for improved handling of lateral forces, and the shaker can be positioned either vertically or horizontally, offering flexibility for a wide variety of test setups.

To support safe and reliable operation, especially during extended testing, the system is equipped with integrated pneumatic load support, temperature monitoring, and laser displacement sensors — providing protection against both overheating and overtravel.

Flexible Power and Easy Setup

The OMEGA 1050 is designed with ease of use in mind. A single MB A2500 amplifier can power one shaker, or two simultaneously, in either in-phase or out-of-phase configurations, depending on the demands of the test. It operates on a standard 230VAC supply with a 16A breaker, keeping installation simple and efficient.

Each OMEGA 1050 system is supplied with everything needed for immediate deployment, including:

  • OMEGA 1050 vibration exciter

  • MB A2500 amplifier

  • CU-4 control unit

  • 19” mobile rack

  • 30-metre drive cables

  • Status cables (on drums)

  • Four 10kg reaction weights

  • Handheld compressor

This makes the OMEGA 1050 an ideal choice for a range of applications, from modal analysis and seismic testing to ground vibration studies and beyond — particularly in field-based environments where mobility, adaptability, and rapid setup are essential.
