Production Jigs

The makers of the dashboard assembly for the BMW Mini asked us to design some jigs to improve the positioning of an anti-squeak tape that was applied to the dashboard cowling, as they were getting high rejection numbers.
We designed an assembly station for two operators with nests for the cowling made in GRP and green baize to protect the A surfaces. The frame was mild steel section welded with spools for the tape.

The jig improved production to 100%.
