Gear Racks & Pinions

Rack and pinion Gears are used in order to convert rotation into linear motion or linear motion into rotation. The rack gear is the term used to describe the flat toothed part and the pinion is the gear. The diameter of the gear determines the speed which the rack gear moves at as the pinion turns.
