Worms

Worms are similar to a screw thread and work with worm wheels or they can be used to gear with a single helical gear. A single helical gear is much cheaper to make than a worm wheel but the resultant drive is not as good and it will not last as long in service. The maximum number of starts 20. Our maximum worm diameter is 250mm (10 inches) and maximum pitch 20MOD (1.25DP, 2.5 inches circular pitch). We can also cut maximum 200mm (7.87 inches) diameter * 3m (118 inches) long.
