Iron Runner

Fabrication of an iron runner for Redcar Blast Furnace: fully assembled iron runner complete with air cooling pipes and thermocouples. The iron runner was fabricated in sections using 5 ton overhead cranes. It was then finally assembled on stools to allow completion of welding. The finished runner was then jacked up and supported on external temporary legs, the stools were removed to allow a low loader to back up its trailer underneath, then take the weight of the finished runner which was 30 tonne
