Course Title: Airworthiness Regulations. Course Code: EL 112 Course content: This course aimed at personnel within the aviation industry who require an overall understanding of how airworthiness and safety regulation is controlled in the UK. The course covers International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), structure of UK CAA, the concept of airworthiness, air law, the European Safety Agency (EASA) and the role of the Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA). Design Organisation Approval process, certification of large and small aircraft, rotor-craft, flight handling, propulsion regulation, power plant installation, aircraft equipment approvals, installation approval, structures, avionics and cabin safety and the role of design in these is covered. This is supported by a review of the requirements of maintenance and reliability, ageing and licensing along with flight operations and JAR-OPS/EASA Part M (AOC maintenance) requirements.
