25-04-2018

The growing use of engineered plastics in oil and gas applications saw international polymer solutions specialist Nylacast exhibiting at Offshore Europe in Aberdeen this September. The city was greeted with members of the international oil and gas community as they attended Offshore Europe at the AECC, which attracted over 35,000 people between September 5-8. Nylacast, which has bases in the UK, US, South Africa and China, showcased its ability to develop custom and precision engineered materials and its component manufacturing capabilities for offshore, oil and gas sector applications. This included examples of a range of tailored components that have been developed for use in applications across the industry from subsea tiebacks through to ROV and offshore components. Nylacast sales engineer Joseph Butler who attended the show commented, “Offshore Europe 2017 was a great forum for us to meet new and existing clients to discuss the ongoing and new projects, the benefits of engineering polymers and the future of the industry. The show was extremely busy and featured a range of new companies and technology which brings great excitement and optimism for the future.” Nylacast works closely with many blue chip organisations in the oil and gas sector including BP and Shell, on projects extending from the North Sea to the Gulf of Mexico. Celebrating 50 years of engineering excellence, Nylacast products and materials are time served and proven to deliver increased efficiency, safety and performance in many industry operations and applications from lifting to the installation of subsea pipelines. The inherent properties of Nylacast’s advanced polymers result in applications which are lightweight, corrosion resistant and low friction. The company provides a full engineering consultancy and project management service from concept to delivery, working closely with customers to understand their applications and provide innovative, tailored solutions. The company continually invests in its in-house R&D, creating market-leading resources and expertise to custom formulate materials and components. Offshore Europe 2017 was the final edition of the show to take place in the current Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre before moving to its new site in 2019. The event saw 44 countries being represented through exhibiting companies and welcomed delegates from over 100 countries.
