The SMSD is a single controller which includes a driver for stepper motor communication and a logic controller for realising different types of motion. The SMSD units provide:

• Driver mode with logic signals STEP/DIR
• Synchro mode 
• Manual operation mode
• Programme mode and preset motion algorithm
• Tracking mode (SMSD-822 only)
