Plastic bearings

Plastic ball bearings are normally stocked with acetal resin (POM) rings and nylon (PA66) cages with 316 stainless steel or glass balls. These plastic bearings are generally used as corrosion resistant bearings, non magnetic bearings or non-conductive bearings. We can also supply corrosion resistant and chemical resistant plastic bearings made from materials such as polypropylene or PEEK. For good chemical resistance with higher load ratings, see our ceramic bearing page.Plastic bearings can only support low loads and speeds and should not be used in temperatures greater than 90°C. PEEK can be used up to 260°C. Our plastic bearings are normally open but they may also be supplied with shields or seals on request. Plastic bearings are not precision grade. Normal inner and outer ring tolerances on these bearings are +/- 0.1mm. Larger sizes can be supplied to order.
