Our drum and barrel handling equipment in festive use We’re all ready for a bit of festive cheer – some time to sit back, enjoy small pleasures and be thankful. So, whilst we look forward to a few days off over Christmas, we thought we’d share how our excellent Grab-O-Matic drum handling equipment is helping to bring you joy in ways you never knew! Christmas Honey The tradition of gifting honey goes way back to ancient Egypt. Over time, honey has become a part of Christmas celebrations in many countries. In Greece, it has become a key part of church practices, whilst in Europe many families include honey as part of their Christmas Eve dinner. Authentic raw honey never goes off, and honey is considered both a health food and an aid to healing wounds. So how does St Clare Engineering help deliver this golden delight to you in time for Christmas? We supply forklift truck drum handling equipment to several honey suppliers, including Rowse Honey, Littleover Apiaries and Hilltop Honey. Raw Honey is supplied in 200L drums from all over the world and must be handled carefully to avoid sticky spillages and maintain hygiene – with Grab-O-Matic in control your honey is in safe hands. Christmas Spirit It’s not just honey barrels that we help: St Clare Engineering supports some of the best drinks companies in moving precious barrels of spirits and wine. For example, we manufactured a bespoke lifting attachment to help Tullamore DEW manoeuvre heavy whiskey barrels at their famous Irish distillery. Tullamore use traditional wooden casks to mature their Irish whiskey to Christmas perfection. We have also supplied barrel handlers to distilleries in the USA and Australia to move their whiskey and wine barrels. With St Clare Engineering’s skilled help, barrels can now be lifted quickly and easily – maturing nicely for your Christmas cheers.
