About Us
The Machining division of the WEC Group was created when Stephen Hartley, Managing Director, was approached by a local company Precision Engineers (Fabrication) Ltd, with an opportunity to purchase the machining and light fabrication company.
As the Group was subcontracting machining at the time, it made sense to bring a machining division in-house. In December 2005, Precision Engineers Ltd, a precision engineering company based in Rishton, was purchased along with another 15,000 square foot of space to house the division. Run as Precision Engineers for the next 18 months, the company re-branded the division as Hi-Spec CNC in 2007.
Established in 1942, Precision Engineers Ltd had been offering a comprehensive range of subcontract manufacturing services to many challenging industries for about 70 years.
The company has also built its reputation thanks to their Rishton Machines division which has been manufacturing and commercializing small workshop machines for over 30 years. The original range included grinders, polishers, bandfacers, dust extraction units, hand operated presses and small conventional vertical milling machines. To this day, the company still manufactures most of their original range of educational and industrial machinery including their renowned Clarendon presses.
