There are a lot of different applications within the Oil and Gas Industry ranging from exploration to drilling and pumping where hard and exotic materials are frequently used. This is somewhat due to the hostile subsea environment that they operate in as well as the length of time the components are needed to perform without any issues, but also because of the accuracy and tolerance which can be achieved and maintained in hard materials.
