UK deliveries. Contact our well informed sales team. 735A50 is a tough oil quenching chromium vanadium spring steel. When heat treated 735A50 offers good wear resistance. Forging: Forge at 1050?C. Do not work 735A50 steel when it has fallen below 840?C. Annealing: Slow furnace cool from 840?/860?C. Hardening: Pre heat slowly to 650/700?C and thoroughly soak. Continue heating to the final hardening temperature of 850/870?C and allow the 735A50 component to be heated through. Quench in oil. Tempering:Temper immediately after quenching whilst the 735A50 tools are still hand warm. Re-heat to the tempering temperature, soak for one hour per 25 millimetre of total thickness, 2 hours minimum, then cool in air. For most applications tempering will be between 400?/600?C.
