BS1407 Steel is a high carbon steel supplied in precision ground bar form produced to BS1407 specification. BS1407 Steel is supplied in the annealed condition having an average hardness of 270 brinell (Rockwell C27). To obtain full wear resisting hardness with toughness silver steel may be heat treated up to a maximum hardness of Rockwell C64. As a BS1407 Steel stockholder stocks are held in standard sizes detailed below; in 3m, 2m, 1m, and 330mm lengths. Non standard sizes in silver steel can be produced to your specific requirements.
