Nitrogen Laser Cutting

This is a slightly more expensive assist gas but provides the cleanest cut finished with no burr. As this is a cooling gas it helps to keep the temperature of the material down and provides a faster cut. As of December 2013, we have installed a high quality filtration system which removes nitrogen from the atmosphere and stores it in pressurised bottles, the purity of this gas is equivalent to liquid nitrogen storage. We use this on thinner mild steels to provide a high quality cut and prevent any oxidisation issues created by using oxygen.
