Aerotherm design, manufacture and install four high temperature furnaces

03-08-2014

22 January, 2014 Categories: Industrial Industrial Furnaces A world leading company in surface coatings contracted Aerotherm to provide four high temperature furnaces to update the company's existing production processes and improve efficiency. The client is highly focused upon efficiency, therefore Aerotherm included many benefits which would allow for a cost-effective solution. These are planned to be a modern construction and technologies that would replace the 30 year old furnaces. Crucially, instead of being lined internally with metal, the four furnaces were brick lined, with brick having superior heat retention properties. As a result the furnaces will have a much shorter ramp up time than furnaces and ovens. The furnaces will be able to reach temperatures in excess of 800°c and as the furnaces are going to be used to treat Aerospace components they need to adhere to NADCAP standards. This will be reached through the use of process air fans ensuring temperature uniformity of +/- 3°c. Aerotherm's solution also will include advanced data logging systems to provide accurate monitoring that the furnaces and the product will need to sustain temperatures. Mesh lined baskets will also be provided for the product to be loaded into the oven and all the necessary extraction to remove the hot air from the furnaces at the end of the cycle to prevent the workspace from being flooded with hot air.
