Aerotherm Environmental- CHP (Combined Heat and Power)
Over recent years Aerotherm have gained extensive experience in the installation of CHP including the installation of a CHP system in a world-leading specialist fertiliser manufacturer. The traditional approach of purchasing power from a centralised system or from the national grid is less efficient than a CHP system, not to mention very wasteful as a typical centralised system will waste on average 65% of the energy used in fuelling it as waste heat. The waste heat is usually released into the atmosphere instead of being harnessed for other uses like a CHP will do. Combined Heat and Power (CHP) is a system which allows you to produce power onsite where you are in control, these can be housed in sound proof enclosures and in some occasions surplus power can be sold back to the grid . CHP converts gas, that usually has a lower tariff, into electricity which allows a company to become sustainable easily than the traditional method. The CHP also utilises the waste heat which is a by product of the process and recovered for various purposes such as water heating or space heating to name just a few. A CHP is more environmentally friendly, efficient and cost effective than the traditional approach to gaining heat and power.Visit the Aerotherm Group website for more information on Aerotherm Environmental- CHP (Combined Heat and Power)
