Brooks Forgings Purchase Cerro EMS Screw Press Forging Plant

10-06-2025

Following the recent closure of the Cerro EMS forging and machining facility in Birmingham, Brooks Forgings is pleased to confirm the acquisition of a number of key assets, including a range of forging screw presses with capacities from 100 to 1,400 tonnes.

In addition to securing equipment, Brooks Forgings also recognises the value of the skilled workforce at Cerro EMS. Offers of employment have been extended to several former team members, many of whom will be taking up new roles within the company over the coming months.

This acquisition includes the largest of the presses—a 1,400-tonne unit—and marks a significant addition to Brooks Forgings’ capabilities.

As part of a continued commitment to investment and development, the newly acquired machinery will be strategically deployed across the company’s three sites in the West Midlands. This expansion further reinforces Brooks Forgings’ dedication to supporting UK manufacturing and strengthening its position within the forging sector.
