October 14, 2013 - Grant helps CLS – New laser cutting machine

Carlton Laser Services receive first grant A sheet metal manufacturing business has seen improved productivity and an increase in jobs thanks to the Regional Growth Fund (RGF) grant. Thurmaston-based Carlton Laser Services was the first business in the Leicester and Leicestershire area, to receive the grant. The engineering company was awarded £106,250 to put towards the purchase of a new, state-of the-art laser cutting machine. The grant brought the machine purchase forward by around 18 months. The new machine operates 50% faster than the 12 year-old one it replaced, production is more efficient and five new members of staff have been taken on.
