Crack Testing

Cracks in welds are not acceptable in all events; a small crack in time may propagate so we need to test, locate and re-work or reject. We detect cracks utilising a few different methods. 1) Macro-analysis for cracking the body of the welds, viewed under magnification. 2) Dye penetrant testing which looks for surface cracks or defects. 3) Eddy current testing for NDE of magnetic materials only.
