Acquisition of Haycock & Hague Pipework Systems and a 50% shareholding in Zennergy by Hephaestus Holdings Limited
14-04-2015
Following the recent acquisition of the Flaretec companies in January 2014, Hephaestus today announces the acquisition of Haycock & Hague Pipework Systems Limited (“Haycock & Hague”) as well as a 50% shareholding in Zennergy UK Limited (“Zennergy”).
Haycock & Hague is based in Selby, North Yorkshire with production sites in Selby and in Scunthorpe. Its historical base is in pipework bending, fabrication (including a leading position in the UK in helical coil fabrication) and installation. The company has progressively expanded over the last decade into the execution of turnkey projects utilising in-house process and mechanical design engineering capabilities. Its design capabilities in electrical, metering and control systems are provided via its close working relationship with Zennergy, a leading independent specialist supplier of fiscal metering and control solutions to the global energy market. Via an overseas partner, the two businesses have direct access to the Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Malaysia, UAE and Uzbekistan markets.
The two companies are highly complementary to Hephaestus’ recent purchase of the Flaretec businesses which offer the design, build and complete project management of process pipework fabrications, skid packages, pressure vessels and a market-leading position in the design and construction of direct and indirect fired heaters for the oil, gas and process industries.
Dave Jenkins, Managing Director of Haycock & Hague, joins the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Hephaestus with responsibility for the management of all of the group’s fabricating businesses. Dave will drive the integration of Flaretec and Haycock & Hague. Both brand names will be maintained and developed to target different segments of the market but combined in such a way to offer maximum benefits to the group’s customer base. The combination of Haycock & Hague, Flaretec and Zennergy will allow the group to offer a full scope of services from simple pipework fabricating and assembly of skid packages, through mechanical, electrical and control system design all the way through to process design (using in-house process IP) and final services including installation, commissioning and start-up, site services, maintenance packages and provision of spare parts.
Chris Heminway, Hephaestus’ CEO, said “Only two years into our development, the Hephaestus group now comprises two core legs, being coating/metal treatment and pipework/fabrications, each of which has the capability to achieve £10m of sales with the growth plans that are being put in place. As we look forward to demonstrating the growing strengths of the group to our customers in the energy, oil & gas and process industries, we hope that those customers will share our excitement in this new combination”.
