IRIS Inspection IRIS (Internal Rotatory Inspection System) is an ultrasonic technique used to inspect ferrous tubes from the internal diameter. IRIS is a very high resolution technique, with a high degree of accuracy. For carbon steel and other ferrous tube materials, IRIS is the ideal choice. Because it’s an ultrasonic technique the tubes require a very high level of cleaning, as well as needing to be flooded with water to allow the wave to propagate into the material.
