David Chipperfield Architects’ design of Fayland House has controversially been judged the ‘Best New Build in the World’ by an international panel of architects. ALM HM the UK’s leading hard metal distributor supplied VMZINC to specialist metals contractor Peters Roofing for a project which competed with 750 from around the world. Flat lock panels in pre-weathered QUARTZ-ZINC® were used with cappings to conceal the canopy edge and a traditional standing seam system on the roof. The panels interlock on all four sides and are secured with concealed fasteners and clips. The home in the Chilterns was selected in celebration of ‘excellence in one-off house design’.
