Significant Investment increases capacity for CNC Turned Parts in the Oil & Gas Market

ALM Engineering Solutions, the award winning precision engineers based in Newton Aycliffe in the North East of England have just commisioned a further new Mazak CNC Turning Centre. Managing Director Tony Thompson comments “as the demand for machined parts for the Oil & Gas sector continues to rise, our £180,000 investment in the Smart-Turn 350M increases our capacity for larger turned parts up to 420mm diameter and 1200mm in length. Fitted with a fully automated hydraulic steady, the machine can remove metal at a high rate without sacrificing surface finish and dimensional accuracy.” The company, recently crowned Manufacturer of the Year 2013 in the Durham & Wearside category of the North East Business Awards has secured several new contracts in the Subsea market and is planning further capital investment in the new year.
