DO YOU NEED A LOT FROM YOUR MATERIAL APPLICATION?

06-12-2019

One of Carbon’s advantages over traditional 3D printing is the material range available, and when the parts are to be used in a challenging prototype or production application you need to know that the material is fit for purpose. EPX 82 is a high-strength engineering material with excellent long-term durability and mechanical properties comparable to lightly glass-filled thermoplastics (e.g. 20% GF-PBT, 15% GF-Nylon). It also has a heat deflection range of 104-130°C. Please take a moment to look at the video to see more about this incredible material. When you also consider EPX 82 has good chemical resistance the opportunities to use this material increases again. It enables designers to reduce the part count in fluid assemblies such as manifolds and nozzles by losing the need for gaskets and seals. EPX 82 allows us to print geometries that could not be manufactured in any other way, offering a cost effective solution to complex sub-assemblies for prototypes. EPX 82 is also a good solution to applications that require a tough case that might take the odd bump or knock in use. Maybe you need to manufacture impact resistant components sitting within a test rig or assembly, EPX 82 could be the solution. With the added advantage that by removing the need to design with Injection moulding or CNC in mind we could save you valuable time both within your development team and in the time from specification to delivery.
