A1 LEEMING TO BATON (L12B), AGRICOLA MOTORWAY BRIDGE - SYNCHRONISED LIFTING SYSTEM BEARING REPLACEMENT 29th July 2015

04-08-2016

Hydra Capsule we commissioned to design a hydraulic jacking system to synchronuously lifting a compete bridge deck consisting of 100 number hydraulic cylinders (ranging from 100 tonnes to 180 tonnes) across two abutments and two supporting piers for bearing replacement works. The hydraulic system employed, ensured each support beam(s) were lifted accurate to +/- 1.00mm differential throughout each 24 jacking points per support. The complete works were carried out in normal working hours, with "live" traffic across all three carriageways during the jacking and lifting operations. In total, the complete consisted of the bridge support decks to be lifted +10.00mm and isolated on the hydraulic jacks' mechanical locking-collars. To allow all the necessary bearing locations to be refurbished and/or replacement accordingly.
