Hydra Capsule were awarded the subcontract to supply and fix approximately 65 number x grout-filled flat jacks. The flat jacks were used to pre-load excavation support struts ranging from 40 tonnes upto 900 tonnes to assist with ground works to be completed.
In additon, a load transfer for the complete southside wall of the V&A Museum was completed, which in turn weighed 400 tonnes and was synchronuously lifted across 30 number hydraulic jakcs, accurate to +/- 0.10mm throughout the jacking operation. The jacks were then transferred with cementitious grout for permanent in-situ application, maintaining existing movement and load accuracy ranging from 0.25mm and +/- 5 kNs at each jacking location.Visit the Hydra-Capsule Ltd website for more information on VICTORIA & ALBERT MUSEUM, LONDON - FLAT JACKING & MONITORING EQUIPMENT 29th May 2015
