31-07-2014

In April we again showcased at the biennial Dusseldorf Wire Show with our biggest stand yet and received many interesting and promising enquiries from existing and new potential customers.……… The week in Dusseldorf at the Wire Show in April was extremely well worth the travel time and effort. The quality and caliber of the enquires was first and uppermost with interest being expressed from customers both new and old covering a wide and varied range of products and sectors. The show also gave us the opportunity to re-establish links with a number of organizations. We received significant interest from in the main, western European based companies. Given our global presence, there are no boundaries or barriers we can’t overcome and we eagerly anticipate enjoying a fruitful and expectantly productive outcome as a result of the show. Whilst we thought there was a lot of interest in our products and services, we realised some of the attraction was the Pin Ball wizard machine that was on our stand. A number of show delegates gave it a try with most saying it took them back to their formative years to what was obviously an “interesting” time spent in café bars, youth clubs and amusement arcades!!! On a slightly more serious note, we have been totally committed to our investment plan with the impending arrival of a second new CNC 5 Axis Milling Machine Centre which is fully simultaneous, together with a new Spark Erosion EDM machine boasting the latest Form 30 technology on offer. As a result, LOP (“Lights off” Production) capacity has been increased leading to improved delivery and lead times. In - process product integrity and quality has also been enhanced with the purchase of a number of new Baty vertical profile projectors, one equipped with FT2 E Software to improve reporting and inspection requirements. Product identification has been greatly improved where all tools are now marked and identified utilising a new clearer and rapid Laser Marking process. Whatever your marking / identification / logo requirements, we can meet it! Over the past 12 months our investment spend has been close to half a million pounds sterling, aided by Grant Funding obtained from the ERDF Green Bridge project, facilitated by Birmingham Council. Looking to the future, we have partnered with a local College and recently engaged with two engineering apprentices, initially on 2 day / week contracts until they finish their present studies at the end of June. They will then join us permanently going on to complete their qualifications when the new college year commences in September.
